Hello...
A bit about me...
When I was a few months old, my parents bought a rickety old farmhouse in Yorkshire to renovate. It was here that I began to learn my trade. I decorated anything that I could reach. I don’t think I added any value to our new home, but luckily my parents didn’t mind that I had turned the crumbling walls into my own giant canvas!
A few thousand crayons later and in a bid to keep my feet grounded in the real world, I studied Business at Loughborough University. This gave me a comprehensive understanding of how organisations operate, their needs and wants, plus a more analytical, critical and logical way of thinking. Outside of lectures, however, I spent every spare second behind an easel with a paint brush in my hand and a pencil tucked behind my ear!
After graduating I moved to Cornwall and started my professional life in marketing alongside exhibiting and selling paintings in galleries around the South West. As technology progressed I began to do more digital design and illustration for a growing number of clients and that became my full time career. That was back in 2008!
The work bit...
I have over 15 years of industry experience working on a wide variety of projects, both nationally and internationally, with businesses from all over the world. Projects include corporate branding, clothing design, packaging, promotional materials, character design and children’s book illustration.
I specialise in creative digital design and illustration using a combination of hand drawings, Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign. I love to integrate patterns and texture into my work, which is often inspired by nature and textiles.
What can I offer you...
I work very closely with each of my clients, with clear communication at every part of the design process to ensure your project is the one you envisaged. Having a background in business also aids my understanding of your brief from a business perspective. I strive to balance playfulness with purpose, to deliver work that is both beautifully crafted, achieves its purpose and leaves a lasting impression.
